My stay at the hotel was a mix of nice and not so great experiences. The location was wonderful, right downtown and in Pennington County, but the rooms definitely had some wear and were smaller than expected. The service was friendly and inviting, and the dining options were good, though somewhat typical. The facilities were decent, nothing extraordinary.

Rooms
6.0
The rooms had some wear and tear, like cracks in the ceiling and walls, and were a bit dusty. They were smaller than anticipated, close to an elementary school.

8.0
The service was friendly and inviting, making me feel welcome throughout my stay.
Location

The location was a strong point, being right downtown in Pennington County and in the Black Hills. The hotel staff was willing to help with a towing expense, which was a nice touch.
Dining
7.0
The dining options were pretty typical, with standard fare like muffins, danish, and yogurt. The meals were nice but nothing extraordinary.

7.0/10

My stay at the hotel was a mix of positives and negatives. The location was fantastic, right in downtown Deadwood, making it convenient to access all the places I wanted to see. However, the rooms seemed run down and had a strong smell of smoke, requiring me to request a new room. The service was a bit of a hit and miss, with friendly staff, but some areas like the water in the shower needed improvement.

Rooms
5.0
The rooms were supposed to be historic but appeared run down and smelled strongly of smoke. I had to request a new room to avoid the smell. However, the new room had a nice set up with a couch, recliner, rocking chair, and a small TV.
Service
6.0
The staff was friendly and professional, although some aspects like the water in the shower needed attention. The doors were sticking, and the carpet was wet and run down. Overall, the staff was pleasant, helpful, and accommodating.
Location
8.0
The hotel sits in a great spot in downtown Deadwood, making it easy to walk to the places I wanted to visit. The restaurant at the hotel was a nice addition, too.
Dining
9.0
The dining experience was excellent; both breakfast and dinner were top-notch. I appreciated having a great meal prepared right in the hotel.
Facilities
7.0
While some parts of the hotel appeared run down, the facility offered comfortable dining and a convenient location in downtown Deadwood.

6.4/10

The hotel has a great location, ideal for exploring downtown Sioux Falls, with various restaurants, shops, and entertainment options within walking distance. The rooms, unfortunately, are not up to par, showing signs of aging with issues like noise and worn-out furnishings, which detract from the overall charm of the building.

Rooms
5.0
The rooms are disappointing, with dated decor, cracked walls, and noisy conditions. The old mattress and frayed cord on the wall-mount heater are notable drawbacks.
Service
7.0
The service was willing to go the extra mile, although there were instances of staff possibly stretched thin. The shuttle service and tour assistance were appreciated.
Location
8.0
The location can't be beaten just west of downtown Sioux Falls, making it convenient to access a variety of attractions on foot. However, having to pay for breakfast was a downside.
Dining
7.0
The on-site dining establishment, Silverado, serves buffet-style meals, reminiscent of Vegas buffets. The location in the middle of town is a plus.
Facilities
6.0
The facilities are satisfactory, with efforts made to ensure guests' comfort under challenging circumstances.
